 Lloyd Dobler

Memorial services for Lloyd Dobler 78 of Mobridge, SD will be 10:00 AM, Monday, November 10, 2008 at Kesling Funeral Chapel. Rev Doug Westerlund officiating.  Burial of his cremains will be Wednesday at 2:00 PM MST at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.   Mr. Dobler passed away November 5, 2008 at his home in Mobridge. 

 

Lloyd Dobler was born on May 15, 1930 to Edwin J. and Hildegard (Billiymeier) Dobler in Kulm, North Dakota.   Lloyd was a small boy when his father passed away.  His mother remarried Fred Hertel and moved the family to McLaughlin, SD where he grew up and attended school.  Following his education he continued to stay on the farm until he entered the US Army.

 

On June 1, 1957 Lloyd married Alvina Jochim at Selfridge, North Dakota.  They moved to McLaughlin where Lloyd owned and operated his own trucking business he then sold the trucking business and went to work for Farmers Union Elevator in McLaughlin where he worked for 16 years  Lloyd then worked for Valley Gas Propane in Fort Yates, ND for 15 years. While living in McLaughlin Lloyd and Alvina also owned and operated a Laundromat and were in the Café business for a number of years.

 

In 1987 they moved to Mobridge where he worked for the City until his retirement in 1993.  In the summers after his retirement Lloyd worked for Walworth county hauling gravel.

 

Lloyd enjoyed his coffee times, carpentry, going to Rodeo’s watching his kids and grandkids participate in the sports.  Lloyd loved and enjoyed his 3 sons.

 

Lloyd is survived by his wife Alvina of Mobridge, 3 sons; Shane (Shelly) Dobler of Arvada, Co., Payne (Tammy) Dobler of Andover, KS and Zane (Debbie) Dobler of Lakewood, CO. grandchildren Randy Delzer, Zac Dobler ,Cassi Dobler, Sean white Mountain, Chance Dobler, Layne Dobler and BayLee Dobler and great grandchildren Kale and Sid Dobler.  Brother LeMore Dobler of Belle Fourche, SD, sisters Jeanette Jundt of Wakashaw, WI, and Shirley Jerry of Tallahassee, Fl step brothers Leonard (Estella) Hertel of Brunswick, NE, Alfred (Elnora) Hertel of Sturgis, SD, Raymond (Deloris) Hertel of Deadwood, SD, Martin Hertel of Union City, CA, Lawrence (Mary) Hertel of Piedmont, SD, Willie (Bernice) Hertel of Moorcroft, WY, Rodney Hertel of Watertown, SD, Delray Hertel of Thomas, OK, Stanley Hertel of Ft. Yates, ND and Tim (Tina) Hertel of McLaughlin, SD and step sister DeLainis (Casmir) Jochim of Mandan, ND

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Step father Fred Hertel, step brothers Lester and Harvey Hertel and brother LeRoy Dobler.
